Communications Manager for Humanitarian Aid NGO

Help Needed
We are seeking a Communications Manager to lead and elevate our organization’s communication efforts. The main goal is to develop and execute a communication strategy that effectively reaches and engages with donors, volunteers, and the media. You will be responsible for managing social media, producing materials like newsletters and videos, and coordinating with media teams to ensure accurate reporting on our mission. By doing this, you will help us provide vital support to Ukrainians affected by the war and engage the community to assist in these efforts.
What needs to be done

  • Develop and implement a communication strategy for Bevar Ukraine;

  • Manage the organization's social media platforms and website, ensuring up-to-date content and audience engagement;

  • Train and support staff and volunteers in crafting effective messaging;

  • Create high-quality content such as news updates, success stories, and photos to capture public interest;

  • Maintain relationships with Danish and international media and ensure their involvement in covering the organization’s work;

  • Ensure all communication materials are up to date and comply with donor requirements;

  • Act as a key liaison with communication teams from partner organizations in Denmark, Ukraine, and other European countries;

  • Engage local and national journalists to spread accurate and positive information about Bevar Ukraine’s programs;

  • Organize and lead public events, trainings, and meetings related to Bevar Ukraine’s initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of communications, PR or marketing experience;

  • Full working proficiency in Danish;

  • Degree in communications, public relations, business, or a related field;

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills;

  • Expertise in drafting press releases and communications materials;

  • Ability to work independently with minimum oversight and supervision;

  • Ability to lead and motivate colleagues and volunteers;

  • Certificate in Communications or similar qualification is a plus.
